A couple of useful apps are ............
kppp  the KDE ppp connection app
kpppload  the KDE ppp load tool
rp3  the Redhat ppp connection tool

Files that are created and altered with these
applications are(at least what I know now)

wvdial.conf - wvdial only is a ppp connect app

/etc/ppp/resolv.conf - resolvers for the dialin 
connection

pap-secrets - this holds your user name and password
		for pap authentication
chap-secrets - this is used for user name and password
		using CHAP authentication
